Have you got the stones?

I think I’ve discovered the worst restaurant slogan ever.

Down the street from me there’s one of those greasy neighborhood pizza places, called Bella Pizza & Pasta. The other day I saw one of their delivery drivers get out of the car, and he was wearing a shirt that had the following printed on the back:

Bella Pizza & Pasta
PIZZA WITH BALLS

Say, I think I ate there with inky. Now I’m wondering whether that was really Italian sausage or not.

Oooh, I see that you are having bibimbop tomorrow! Exciting, please tell us if Iris likes it. If you use hot red bean paste sauce (GO CHU JANG), thin it out with some white vinegar and sugar for better mixing. Good luck! -Moose

Sorry, Moose, bibimbap is postponed until this weekend. I will definitely thin out the gochujang as you recommend. It’s sort of an experimental bibimbap journey, as I’ll be using my stone bowl for the first time. Any tips on that? I did already heat it once and brush it down with peanut oil. Thanks!

Oooh, you are going the dolsup route!
That is the best, I actually use Nabe type of stone bowls so no need for seasoning for me. I hope you have gas burners. Add rice on the bottom, veggies and meat next, cook egg separately, place on top, put a lid on it and cook on med-low for 5 – 8 min. Add gochujang (thinned down) and drizzle of sesame seed oil and enjoy!

If you have kim chee add on the very bottom before the rice and it is a delicious variation. Iris becareful of the hot bowl! I just had bibimbop (vegetarian) at H-Mart yesterday. $5.50 – what a deal. Their egg was pre cooked and sliced, that sucked. I hope you blog about how it went.
    Cheers. – Moose
